Child and Youth Counselling

Kids don't often communicate the way adults do. This can lead to confusion and frustration for them and for the adults in their lives. Your child may benefit from counselling if they seem to be struggling with:

  • Communication

  • Challenging behaviors

  • Risk Taking

  • Drug or alcohol use

  • Relationship challenges

  • Identity issues

  • Self-harming behaviors

  • Suicide Ideation

  • Depression or anxiety

  • Managing ADHD and/or social or learning challenges

  • Adapting to change (eg. adoption, family dynamics, moving, etc.)

Child/youth counselling takes into account your child's age, development and preference. For many children, play is a central aspect of growth and development and is integrated into the counselling experience.

Counselling for children from ages 4 to 12 is offered by Karlynn Wakulchyk.

Family Counselling

Family life can bring so many dimensions to our relationships that it becomes difficult to sort through. There are times when a neutral third party can see through the veil and pinpoint areas that will allow your family to live harmoniously. Your family may benefit from counselling if you are struggling in one of the following areas:

  • Communication

  • Conflict resolution

  • Negative behavior

  • Interaction patterns

  • Adoption and foster placement concerns

  • Blended family dynamics

Family counselling is focused on your family and your family's functioning; however, sessions for individual members of the family or between a couple of family members at a time is often recommended. If you have questions about whether family counselling may be a fit for you, please book a complimentary meet and greet session.
