Every person struggles with ups and downs throughout their life, but many people also deal with prolonged periods of feeling down, depressed, and/or hopeless. Unfortunately, depression has been stigmatized and widely misunderstood in our society.

Depression is more than just feeling sad—it's a complex condition with different types

MDD

Major Depressive Disorder

Persistent depressed mood or loss of interest affecting daily life for at least two weeks.

SAD

Seasonal Affective Disorder

Depression that occurs during specific seasons, typically winter months with less sunlight.

PPD

Postpartum Depression

Depression occurring after childbirth, affecting new parents and bonding with baby.

PDD

Persistent Depressive Disorder

Long-term (chronic) form of depression lasting two or more years.

BP

Bipolar Disorder

Mood disorder characterized by episodes of depression alternating with mania.

PMDD

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder

Severe mood symptoms occurring in the week before menstruation.
