What is Emotion Focused Therapy?
Emotion Focused Therapy is grounded in emotion theory and neuroscience. It views emotions as fundamentally adaptive and as a primary source of information about our needs and how to meet them.
When emotions become stuck, overwhelming, or painful, EFT helps clients access, process, and transform these emotional experiences. Rather than avoiding or suppressing difficult feelings, clients learn to use emotions as guides toward healing and growth.
